Frequently asked

The questions that come up before someone starts a project — grouped by what they're really asking.

Commercial

Are the published prices what I'll actually pay?
Yes, for fixed-price packages. For "from" packages, the Specification step fixes the final number in writing before build starts — it doesn't move after that without a written, priced change.
How do I pay?
Fixed-scope packages: 50% on start, 50% on delivery. Retainers: monthly in advance. Invoice/bank transfer is the standard route; the site's checkout also supports a demonstration card flow for testing the purchase experience (see the Payment step at checkout).
Do you offer discounts for multiple packages?
We don't publish a standard discount, since most multi-package projects get scoped as one combined engagement with its own specification and price — ask on /contact/ if you're combining two or more services.
What currency are prices in?
EUR, ex-VAT. Czech clients can request a CZK invoice; EUR remains the reference price.
Can I cancel after I've started?
Yes — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy for the exact terms depending on how far into the engagement you are.

Engagement

How involved do I need to be?
One decision-maker who can approve the specification and attend (or review the recording of) the weekly demo. That's the practical minimum.
What if I don't have a written brief yet?
Normal. The Survey step exists to build one with you — most engagements start without a finished brief.
Can you work with our existing team, or only greenfield?
Both. Team Extension embeds our engineers in an existing team and roadmap; most of the seven productised services also integrate with an existing codebase or backend where relevant.
What happens if we disagree on whether something is "done"?
"Done" is checked against the written Specification from step 02 — that document is the reference for both sides, not a judgment call made after the fact.

Legal

Who owns the code once it's built?
You do, in full, on final payment — source, IP, documentation, credentials. Stated plainly in the Terms of Service.
Is our data handled under GDPR?
Yes — devexpertsstudio is based in the Czech Republic, in the EU, and the Privacy Policy states exactly what's collected and why.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, for engagements where confidentiality matters before a written agreement is in place — raise it on /contact/ and we'll send one ahead of the Survey step.
What law governs the engagement?
Czech law, stated in the Terms of Service, for both commerce transactions and direct engagements.

Technical

What stack do you build in?
Named per service on each service page and in full on /about/ — no proprietary framework, so there's nothing locking you to us for maintenance.
Do we get access to the repository during the build, or only at the end?
During — weekly demos are of the real, running codebase, not a separate demo environment.
Can you work with our existing codebase?
Usually, yes — Custom Software Development, Web Application Development, and Software Modernization & Consulting are all commonly bought against an existing system.
Do you use AI tools in development?
Where they genuinely speed up the work without compromising quality, yes, as part of the engineering process — the specification, weekly demos and Verification step are what guarantee the outcome, not the tools used to get there.
