Software Modernization & Consulting — devexpertsstudio

The Problem

The system is a growth constraint or a deal risk, and the people who built it are gone, unavailable, or too close to it to assess it honestly. Most studios in this market only sell greenfield builds — the harder work of assessing and fixing what already exists doesn't show up on their site because they don't do it.

  • No one currently on staff wants to touch the codebase, and no one's sure why it works
  • A due-diligence deadline (funding, acquisition) with no independent technical opinion lined up
  • A system that's clearly slowing the roadmap, with no written account of exactly why

What's Included

Static and manual code review

not just a dependency-scanner report.

A risk map, ranked by actual impact

security, scalability, maintainability — not a flat list of findings.

An architecture-level read

not just a line-by-line audit: where the design itself is the constraint.

A written roadmap

sequenced and estimated, that another team can execute without us if you choose.

A direct conversation with the engineer who did the review

not a report handed over by an account manager.

Who It's For

Perfect for

  • CTOs and technical execs who inherited a system nobody on staff wants to own
  • Investors and acquirers who need an independent technical opinion before a deal closes
  • Teams whose growth is visibly constrained by a system nobody's had time to properly assess

Outcomes

  • A concrete, written answer to "what's actually wrong, and how bad is it"
  • A roadmap that's fundable and sequenced, not a vague "needs a rewrite"
  • A due-diligence report that stands on its own in front of investors or acquirers

TIER 02

Legacy Audit & Roadmap

A full technical assessment, plus a sequenced, priced plan to fix what’s found.

€5,600

  • Full code, architecture and infrastructure review
  • A ranked risk map: security, scalability, maintainability
  • A phased roadmap with rough estimates for each phase
  • A walkthrough call with the engineer who did the review

How This Engagement Runs

Survey

We read the existing codebase and its failure points directly — not a summary someone gives us secondhand.

Specification

Findings and, where applicable, a remediation roadmap are written down and priced before any code changes are made.

Build

For the Modernization Programme: phased execution, weekly demos of migrated or refactored components, system operational throughout.

Verification

Findings are checked against the actual running system, not inferred from static analysis alone; remediation work is tested against the specification.

Handover

The report (or the modernized system) and full documentation transfer on final payment — usable by your own team or ours.

Capability Example

An illustrative engagement, written from how we work. Client details are withheld and no outcome figures are claimed.

What we build with

  • Static analysis tooling
  • PostgreSQL / MySQL
  • PHP / .NET / Java (assessed, stack-agnostic)
  • Docker
  • CI/CD (GitHub Actions)

Frequently asked

Do you only assess systems you'd also build with?
No — the audit is stack-agnostic. We assess what exists, in whatever language or framework it’s written in, and the roadmap accounts for the real cost of working in that stack, not a preference for our own.
Is the report confidential if this is for an acquisition?
Yes. Findings are shared only with the parties you name — this is stated in the engagement agreement before work starts.
Can another team execute the roadmap instead of you?
Yes, by design. The roadmap is written to be executable by any competent engineering team, not written to force a follow-on sale.
What if the audit finds the system is fine?
Then the report says so. The value of an independent review is the honest answer, not a predetermined case for more work.
How technical is the report — can our CTO hand it straight to engineering?
Yes. It's written at the level of a peer technical review, not translated for a non-technical stakeholder — plain findings, real architectural tradeoffs named.

An independent, written opinion on what you're actually running.
